I passed by the new station on Potomac Avenue on Thursday. It's just a block to the north of the existing station on S. Glebe and Potomac Ave. The new station is much larger, 23 docks compared to just 11 for the S. Glebe station.

I think this is the first new station in Crystal City/Potomac Yard since 2010, correct? The new station should help with dockblocking at the formerly isolated S. Glebe station. Next up: expansion into the Alexandria section of Potomac Yard and Slaters Lane. Please?

Yes.

Just added a few recommendations of my own...thanks for the map link!

Was wondering about this though:

That's random. I'll ask our software guys to look at it.

I already added those suggestions about a year ago. Plus many others. I was among the first to add suggestions for various spots on the National Mall, Bethesda, Upper Northwest DC and Columbia Pike. I also forged ahead and pioneered new CaBi areas in Tysons Corner and National Harbor. Well, I pretend that I am pioneering CaBi expansion in new areas. It's easy to add new CaBi areas on an online map.

I have taken the crowdsourcing map seriously though. All of the suggestions I entered were good-faith ones, in places that I thought would benefit from bike stations. I do think that if Tysons can improve their bike infrastructure in certain places, CaBi could work. National Harbor definitely could benefit from having multiple bike stations.

So bring on those northern stations, City of Alexandria!
