View Full Version : Impromptu Ride to the Greenbelt races

Most Wednesdays in summer there's an evening road race in Greenbelt National Park.

This afternoon, a colleague from work who's going to the race asked me if I wouldn't mind knocking off work early and guiding him out to the race venue by bike. I've never gone to watch the races, but I know the area passably well.

We'll be leaving the Newseum (6th and Penn NW) at 4:15pm, and taking my usual commute route up the Met Branch trail, across NE DC, and up the NE Branch trail to Good Luck Road. Then, our plan is to slog up the hill on or alongside Good Luck and enter Gbelt Park by the back entrance.

Anyone interested in going out to watch the races is welcome to meet up with us. (Keep in mind full dark is about 8:30pm now, so you'd need trail lights for the ride back to DC you unless you left before about 7:45.)

Today's races cancelled, due to threat of rain. So...

Never mind.
