View Full Version : July Saturday morning rides/Bike tent at Greenbelt Farmer's Market

Shop rides from Proteus are going to switch to Saturday mornings at 8am-10am in July (and tomorrow) to beat the heat. The rides are guided and no drop, usually moderate pace (although sometimes Laurie goes off the front...) and social/non-competitive in nature. Newer riders are welcome at these rides -- sometimes it's best to get your legs with a group!

Here is likely route for tomorrow (Beltsville farms to Patuxent wildlife refuge): http://ridewithgps.com/routes/896301

And here is the most direct way to get to the shop from DC if anyone wants to come out to the burbs to ride with us: http://app.strava.com/rides/9281675

We're also going to have a tent at the Greenbelt Farmer's Market on Sunday, July 8th, from 10am to 2pm. We'll have a stand for minor adjustments, maps and local ride and commuting info, and (hopefully) the cargo bike with pedal-powered blender making smoothies. -Jeff

Nice bamboo bike!

Guy builds them in College Park. I put up a link on the shop website last night.

PS We're going the do the same ride next Saturday: 8am-10am gentle pace social/warmup ride on the Anacostia Trails; 10am-12pm fast ride in the Beltsville farms and vicinity. That was a fun mix.

Great ride(s) this morning with the Proteus crew again! Though.... we looked at wunderground.com and it looked like it was supposed to clear, apparently the radar was jammed (it was raspberry!)

Not bad for rain rides!
