03-13-2012, 02:58 PM
In cities throughout North America, new public bikesharing systems are being introduced as a new travel option. Besides their value in making bicycling more accessible as a mode of transportation, bikesharing is particularly promising as a first-mile/ last-mile complement to new and existing public transportation systems. This 75-minute webinar on March 14th (3:30 ET) will provide an overview of some of the key factors that agencies thinking of operating a bikesharing system should consider, such as business models, system planning, and operations. Speakers will also highlight case studies and provide some recommendations for integrating a bikesharing system with transit.

- What Makes Bikesharing Successful: Lessons Learned - Susan A. Shaheen, Ph.D., Co-Director, Transportation Sustainability Research Center at UC Berkeley
