It's not as much of a long-haul destination as Carolina Brothers, but there's a new place opening up just off the W&OD in Arlington serving Louisiana style crawfish called Chasin' Tails (http://www.chasintailscrawfish.com/). No word yet on what the nightlife will be like.

We'll have to see how they do on bike racks.

Based on the title, this could be a very, very different post.

Clever!

As a chronically homesick Gulf Coast expatriate, I will definitely be checking this place out on my commute home one evening. Perhaps many evenings.

Will try to remember to post a review when I do (which reminds me, there is another review I've been meaning to post).

Thanks for the info.

Liz

Yes... well, only when the weather's nice and the joggers... never mind.

Is this where Bear Rock used to be at Lee Highway?

it's on that street, and it looks like it's the same 2200 N Westmoreland St address.

Looks like my commute home in the summer just got a little bit longer.

Sounds like we should get a BikeArlington happy hour once they open up!

Let's make it happen! I'll reach out to them to see what their bike parking situation is going to be like.

First Falls Church got Meat in a Box. Now we've got Chasin' Tails. I can't wait to see what's next! We're soooooo much classier than Hooters!

They said they'd love to have us for a Happy Hour/meetup! And this is what I've heard back regarding parking:

"There is plenty of public bike parking around the restaurant, and there is also private bike parking inside of our garage."

So, please set it up. It's been awhile since we got together and there are new folks we'd like to meet. I'd be happy to handle valet services (still looking for a carbon fiber bike to add to the stable ;)

Ken, note that you are referred to as a "Junior Member".... Prove 'em wrong - show the Boneshaker....no junior about it! ;)

Time is relative. Lunch time doubly so.

There's an article on ArlNow about this restaurant today:

So it's open now!

Who is going to be the first to propose a "forum ride" (hitting all our favorite hills and talked about sections like 41st Street, S-Curve of Death, Intersection of Doom, etc...) followed up by merriment at Chasin' Tails?

Seriously, merriment at a place where there's "no forks and no rules AND a trough for cleaning yourself?"

Why not April 13th, for Happy Hour at Chasin' Tails?

5:30 ish? Until the trough runs dry and the pails are empty.

As always, Blacknell buys the first round.

Please bring locks. For your bikes.

Then it is up to Mr. Kelley to map a route for an optional ride in conjunction with Happy Hour.

I shudder to think what he'll come up with in terms of eeewww...hills.

I can't make it on the 13th, but I'd recommend doing 41st street. Those who want to climb it, can ride down Glebe and back up 41st. Those who don't want to ride up it can stop at the top where it comes out on N. Randolph street (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.928334,-77.121454&num=1&t=h&z=18) to heckle the climbers.

Take pictures and enjoy the crawfish!

Stopped by Friday evening just to scope it out and look at the menu. They had a good crowd at 6:15pm.
