View Full Version : Minor flooding on NE branch this morning.

When this river gage (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/md/nwis/uv?site_no=01649500)gets above 4 1/2 feet, the trail starts to flood by the railroad underpass near Alt Rt 1. Was about 6-8" on the trail this morning, I'd say. If it keeps going up over 5 feet, then it gets a little more challenging.

So, last night's commute was a mess with at least 2 feet of water on the trail in this section. The work around isn't bad, though. Just take Alt Route 1 (wide lanes) and Decatur Street (bike lane) to bypass the low-lying trail area.

By 8:30 this morning when I went throught, the water had receded below the trail, but they hadn't taken down the tape yet. There's one muddy/sandy section at the Alt Route 1 underpass that would be very difficult on a road bike.

PS. By last night the path had been cleared. Thanks to MNCPPC or whichever maintenance agency cleared out the mud!
