The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will be meeting at 7 pm on February 12, at the Bradlee Safeway Community Room, 3526 King Street, Alexandria.

Please join us at tonight's BPAC meeting, agenda is below and will include the following:

• Discuss traffic signal policies, practices and management with David Soares, City of Alexandria Traffic Engineer. David will present and “Traffic Signals 101” and answer questions.
• Provide feedback on efforts to improve data collection for crashes involving people walking and biking. Lt Mike May, Commander of APD’s Traffic Safety Section will provide the latest updates on these efforts.
• Learn about opportunities to participate in “Bike Everywhere Month” in May. Proposed events are described on the 2nd page of the agenda. We’ll greatly appreciate help with these events.
• See Complete Streets project updates in the 2nd attachment to this email, including, Plans for off- and on-street bicycle facilities along N Beauregard Street from King Street to Seminary Road, a Mt Vernon and Executive Safety Project, and a Scroggins Road Sidewalk and Traffic Calming Project

o The City is looking to organize a kick-off breakfast at waterfront park at the beginning of the month and a closing party at a local restaurant/pub at the end of the month. An alternative to the opening breakfast could be hosting a table at the Market Square farmers market on the first Saturday of the month if we can get a permit.
