Doughneurers!

I am still in Washington and I will lead you on one more Epic Doughnut Ride in June!
This will be a No-Drop Fun Ride featuring some of the best doughnut purveyors in the
area. Details to come this weekend, by Tuesday, but the Ride will start at Noon or about
Noon on June 3rd somewhere fairly central and it will end when we get to Smoke and
Barrel in Adams Morgan (sweet potato doughnuts on the Happy Hour menu.)
As always, pm me with your mobile number if you want rolling updates on June 3rd so you
can join the ride already in motion. After the route is posted, RSVP to the thread so I know
who to expect on the ride. You need helmets, water, good spirits, doughnut money, and
be ready for fun.
One NOTE to previous Doughneurers: You will have the opportunity to enjoy a delectable
confection from B Donuts, but this ride WILL NOT be going out to Leesburg.
Starting point and Route coming soon. Rain or Shine Ride.
Edelweiss, your Doughneuring Leader!!
P.S. Amy's Doughnuts in Colorado Springs has over 202 different doughnuts in the cases,
on the menu! Open 24/7 I will be leading a ride in Colorado Springs in July!

Sorry Consular!
I planned this ride to coincide with NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY! Which is June 2d.

Note that on Friday, June 2d Dunkin Donut will let you pick out one FREE DOUGHNUT if you purchase a beverage.
Going a step farther, Krispy Kreme will give you one free doughnut if you ask, no purchase necessary.

Some of the local Krispy Stores:
Alexandria 6332 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA, 22306
Capitol Heights 8703 Central Ave, Capitol Heights, MD, 20743
Manassas 9870 Liberia Ave, Manassas, VA, 20110
Rockville 14919 Shady Grove Road, Rockville, MD, 20850
Washington 1350 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC, 20036

Local Dunkins-- too many to list.

Think of National Doughnut Day as a mild warm up for the Epic Ride on Saturday afternoon! e

Hey edelweiss! I don't known how to pm anyone on this forum, but I'm interested in joining this ride. Did you decide where it's starting?

I hope you see this!

Wouldn't it be easier if I posted my bank account so she can put the money directly into my account?

It's on the BCCHHSER&OII calendar (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=vss0aloebi85u9dc9shihueg0o%40group.calen dar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York). I gave Edelweiss editing rights, so hopefully she will keep it up to date both there and here.

Doughneurers!

The starting point for the Doughneuring Ride on June 3rd, 2017, will be the Freezing Saddles Picnic Area on Hains Point, also known as the Picnic Area near the point, meeting at 12:00 Noon.
One announcements: this ride is intended for Doughneurers and people from Freezing Saddles who actually know me. It is not a revival of the old DC Donut Ride of a few years back. Therefore, I am capping the participation at 25 riders. We want to have fun again, not ambush the unsuspecting doughnut shops around DC. Please respond to this thread or send me a notification (instructions above) as an RSVP.
I am delighted to be able to share FIVE new doughnut venues with you on this ride, and we will revisit a few old favorites, too. Moreover, after valiant Doughneuring in the winter, and sadly winning the Sorriest Doughnut Prize, Mary has seen the light and is newly appreciative of high-end crafted doughnuts. She has generously volunteered to drive out to B Doughnuts in Leesburg earlier on Saturday to procure a wide selection of these delectable delights for us to enjoy at the Hains Point start!
Please visit the B Doughnuts website so you can tantalize your taste buds and begin to dream about these delicious delights: http://www.bdoughnut.com/. Monetary Donations will be welcomed.
I am keeping the exact route under wraps for now, but as always, it is open to riders who want to join in at any point, or who have to cut out before the end, with an RSVP and a phone number so you receive the text updates of our location as we cruise DC.
A rough idea of the Ride is HP to DC Capitol Hill and points east first, followed by a cross town jaunt to Georgetown, then across the mighty Potomac and up to Arlington, shooting back to DC, up the newly repaved Rock Creek Trail to Smoke and Barrel in Adams Morgan. Riders heading home to Virginia or back to Hains Point can go together after the beer and sweet potato doughnuts on the patio have been enjoyed. Maryland riders can head north with me. Total HP start to finish (at Smoke and Barrel) mileage is about 25.
Just coming to the beer and doughnuts on the patio part is ok, rough, really rough, estimate is arriving there between 4 and 5 pm. It takes a while for a big pack of cyclists to get doughnuts at all the stops!
Send your RSVPs! The ride will go rain or shine. This ride is no drop. We are sure to have a epic time!
As always, Be There and Be Round! edelweiss

The Ride has been posted to the Forum Calendar!

THIS Saturday, weather prediction is looking great! Noon start on Hains Point,
meandering through the city, over the River and back to satisfy our doughnut
cravings.

Lots of time to let everyone know you are coming!! Plenty of room on the ride
for you to join in!

Ok, you will be so sorry if you miss the SEVEN doughnut shop Epic Ride!
Starting with the B Doughnut Pop-Up at Hains Point!!! Get to the start, eat amazing Doghnuts.
From there we will go into DC, Capital Hill and Eastern Market areas, to hit THREE new venues!!
One is the Pretzel Bakery where we have to choose between the Nutella Pretzel Bombs and the sweet yummy cinnamon glazed pretzels. Two other stops in the vicinity offer new sweet delights.
Next we will cross town to Georgetown and visit District Doughnuts again in Cady's Alley.
Sadly, very sadly, the Bayou Bakery in DC has recently closed, BUT we will burn some calories by cycling up to the Bayou Bakery in Arlington! Yummy beignets, drenched in powdered sugar...
14897
Then back across the Potomac to Smoke and Barrel for a well-deserved beer or cool beverage on the patio. Sweet potato mini-doughnuts are optional.
Still several spaces available, join the fun!! Doughneuring on June 3rd! Be There, Be Round!

Come on down to Hains Point and get in on the Fun.
Accepting 'Ride-Ins' at this point, but shoot me a message by Friday evening is you want to be counted for the B Doughnuts at the start; I need to pre-order today.

Weather prediction just keeps getting better!!!
See you There, edelwsiss

We have to get our fruits and vegetables somehow! Apple Fritters? Cherry Blossom doughnuts in April?
There will be one Chive-Cream Cheese "Everything Bagel" Doughnut at the ride start tomorrow.
Chives are vegetables, right? Lemon Curd-filled Doughnut? Vanilla is a Bean, after all.

But I agree--we draw the line at spinach, kale, or broccoli in doughnuts, I think! My route has us sticking to
the sugary, Nutella, chocolate and vanilla icing and glaze, plus of course the iconic PINK Frosted doughnuts...

See you there, bring a drool bib (optional) e

I will sadly be missing out on the doughnut adventure. I will, however be wearing my doughnut cycling cap tomorrow as I drive down to Georgia.

Edelweiss: I won't be able to make it either. I have to be somewhere in the afternoon, so have to ride earlier. I'll be wearing a donut jersey in solidarity.

Just don't go to this place. I heard their offerings are middlin' https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170603/4367a55d35cc38de4e25af0aa238fbe8.jpg

It was a great day of riding and eating. We didn't even get to all the stops, since everyone was starting to get too (cream or jelly) filled towards the end of the ride.

At the Hains Point meeting area, these delicacies from B Doughnuts were awaiting

14934

Next stop was at DC Donuts at Eastern Market

14935

From there, we headed to the Pretzel Bakery on 15th and C St SE

14936

Then we pedaled back across town to Astro Donuts

14937

I split off from the group here and they headed to Right Proper (since Smoke and Barrel wasn't opening for another two hours)
