Included in the survey are proposed stations west of Quaker.

Ben Brenman Park and Sommervillle Street
Armistead Booth Park and Cameron Run Trail
Eisenhower Avenue across from Lake Cooke
Duke Street at the Holmes Run Trail (near the Foxchase Shopping Center)
Holmes Run Parkway at Pickett (near Beatley Library)

Also, a proposed station on the deck of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. This station would be the furthest south in the system and would provide future connectivity to Prince George's County and Fairfax County.

Some of the station ideas are great...A few others confuse me. They are proposing to put 1 bike share station on each end of the Braddock Road Metro station's parking lot (the one existing one, and then a new one across the lot from it?) And the one on the MVT just north of Old Town is a great idea in theory, except it could cause a mess since the propose to put it directly on the trail, and it'll take up valuable trail space and potentially lead to people blocking the trail.

Maybe I'm just not getting something about these 2 spots though...

This is bringing me closer to my dream of riding bikeshare from S. Alexandria all the way to work someday. Now all Fairfax has to do is put some stations in my neighborhood!!!

Regarding the station on the MVT at Canal Plaza. I mentioned in my comments that this is a challenging location, as it can get quite congested.

The proposed station on the WW bridge deck will be waiting for Fairfax to expand the system down the MVT.

The block of stations near Cameron Station and up the Holmes Run will have particular added value if/when the bike/ped bridge to Van Dorn Metro is built, and they can be used to access the Van Dorn metro station. For now I guess they are close enough to other stations to not be an island, and will support each other.

I presume there is no discussion of northwest Alexandria (the forgotten corner) IE Bradlee, Park Center, NVCC, as that will wait until the Alexandria Gateway Project is finished, which I guess should have a station, and will provide an easier connection to the Arlington stations by the W&OD (though there is already proximity to the Fairlington stations and to the station near Fairlington Center on Quaker).

Station on the MVT will complement the proposed NPS Gravelly Pt station.

Not sure if the new Pot Yard stations are to be paid for by developers - if so great, if not, that area already looks a bit saturated to me,

WW bridge will make it easier to connect to PG County proposed stations at NH.

I guess it isn't in Alexandria so it is moot anyway, but it would be great to get a station close to Dyke Marsh about 2 miles south of Wilson Bridge. That is a popular destination and a lovely ride. Many people bikeshare and pay the price or bikeshare and uber.

I believe the City is also planning on installing a bike share station on Wheeler Avenue at the Port City Brewery.

A bike share station is planned at the Gateway project when it is completed, so it makes sense to expand in the northwest at that time. It will help the northwest section of Alexandria when Arlington expands up Walter Reed and around Wakefield High School. Also, it would be worthwhile to get a station at the Bradlee Shopping Center.

You can see the proposed stations on a map here (https://www.alexandriava.gov/goalex/info/default.aspx?id=95476#ProposedStationLocations)

The City has also prepared a flyer (https://www.alexandriava.gov/uploadedFiles/localmotion/info/programs/5-12-2017_CaBi_Outreach(1).pdfhttp://) that includes an overall map of the existing and proposed stations, as well as individual pictures and zoomed in maps of each proposed station.

The city has done nothing to provide safe accommodation to MVT users during construction at Canal Plaza. Add in the garbage trucks blocking the trail at the nearby hotel and you have to wonder how clueless the city is. My vote is to put any Bikeshare station in front of the house of the cranky dude in Old Town who harasses the city to ticket cyclists. Or in front of 420 N Union where the occupant blocks the trail on a regular basis.

I look forward to bike share expansion, but in a sensible, safe location.

I have not heard anything about community outreach for the Brenman Park station yet.
