Anyone doing the Seagull next weekend? The wife and I are doing the metric. This will be her first organized ride and my first organized ride on the fixie.

I did the ride a few years ago with some friends who were relatively new to cycling (it's a great introductory ride for the inexperienced). After seeing how flat it was, I became obsessed with doing it fixed even though at the time I had never ridden fixed before.

Anyway, I'm excited. Hope the weather is better than last year.

Riding the Assateague route. If my friend is in tow I will be his lead out train. If not, I'm going to try and better my Amish Country Bike Tour time.

Barring any hurricanes or other random events #10 should be the Seagull Century.

I was only joking...hope the weather god's didn't take it seriously: Hurricane Matthew (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/173712.shtml?5-daynl#contents)

Not again.

The National Hurricane Center's projection maps for where Hurricane Mathew might go certainly bear close study.

Oh dang it! At least Hurricane Joaquin sounded cool. Hope it doesn't get hurricaned out two years in a row.

I will be there with Ryan S. doing the Assateague route. Dave S. and Jean D. are planning to ride tandem. Hoping Matthew only brings wind, but no rain on Saturday...

We're riding the Assateague route, on single bikes I'm pretty sure.

Latest hurricane forecast looks like it's no threat to the ride, may not even get any rain.

Here's a RWGPS version of the route, though I've never really needed guidance other than following the road markings and sticking with other riders.

Route maps were updated today. Looks like all have changes, so if you already downloaded cue sheets/gpx files you may want double check that you have the most current

Weather Underground has cut the forecast rain amount by nearly half and pushed the worst of the rain later in the day. It's gonna be a beautiful day.

Relive it: https://www.relive.cc/view/738370361

temps were perfect; light rain, but no downpours; some headwinds on the way to Assateague, tailwinds mostly back to Salisbury.

The reliveit is a lot more interesting on the long rides.

It was my first time visiting Assateague so that was neat. The weather was kind of dreary which led to an all business ride for me. I ended up pacelining instead of looking around at the scenery.
