As a potential podium finisher on the n+1 PP, I am offended by how many bikes I have. So I am adding a balancing PP, n-1. For every bike you sell or give away, you get 1 point, frame & fork: 0.8, a matching wheelset: 0.7, single wheel: 0.25,.... and further details below. Selling has no multiplication factor, giving away has a 2x factor.

The rules, the sale or give away has to occur during BAFS2016. The part or bike must have been in your possession. The sale of give away has to be permanent, so selling Rod your Colnago for $5 and buying it back a week later does not count. Selling as a actual bike dealer also does not count.

point values: description
2.00 : 100% full bike, able to be ridden right after the exchange of money, favors or thanks
1.50: nearly full bike, at least 90% of the parts but not able to be ridden away at point of exchange (yes a full bike w/o pedals falls into this)
1.00 : partial bike or farmes & fork, or fork)

Multipliers:
Giving away: 2x
Selling to another BAFS member not on your team: 1.25x
Selling to another BAFS member on your team: 0.9x

With hold the right to modify number for very cool things.

Prize. Hmmmm. First dibs on anything, or everything, from my pile of stuff to go to VeloCity.

Points so far:
1. Rockford10: 14.50 (gave away a whole bike, gave away three frames, sold a frame)
-. Raymo853: 5.00 points (negated as judge)
2. Eminva: 4.00 (old beater given away)
3. Noodles 4.00 (gave old GT to daughter's beau)
4. JonRobot: 2.00 (sold Krampus)

Does this mean I get more points by taking the wheels off before selling an entire bike to the same person?

oh sweet! i sold my krampus on january 31st. unfortunately, it was to some rando, not a bafs person, though.

are the points from the sale undone in some way if the funds were immediately (30 minutes later) used to buy a new bike? i'm... asking for a friend.

No penalties for buying more.

I may need to adjust the values.

And while I am not eligible, I have already sold a wheelset, given away a frame and fork set, and plan to give away a fully functioning bike. And maybe two bikes if my wife allows it.

Happy to be on the receiving end if anyone needs to get rid of wheel sets or 58cm FG

I have a 26" rim brake-only matching set in good condition, if you need one. 100/135 spacing I think.

'97 GT Timberline, donated to my daughter's boyfriend. He needed wheels to get around town and look for a job.

A submission:

I gave this Poprad frame, fork, headset, stem and seatpost to an old GF, Tanya, who then quickly gave it to her BF, Randy. He is using it for Jimmy John deliveries in Pittsburgh. So that is a 1.0 for partial bike plus a 2x modifier for giving away.

I gave this orange bike complete away to Jeff K, a climber buddy of mine. 2.00 points for full bike plus give away, *2 so 4.00 points.

Regarding the prize. I plan to take photos of my free parts box and whomever has points, in order, can request an item or two. Here is an early photo:

Eminva: 4.00 (old beater given away)

So far it looks like Eminva and Noodles are tied in values on this.

Is it too late to come from behind?

I sold this frameset:

Finally, I offloaded three (3!!) frames to goodwill because no one else would take them.

I still have bikes for sale!! Bikes for sale!! See here (http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?9067-Bikes-for-Sale!-Kids-Bikes!-Adult-Bikes!)!

Woaa Rockford10. You have 5.50 points with the first two posts. (4.0 gave away a whole bike, 1.5 sold frame) Giving away another three frames then gets you ((1.5*2)*3) for 9 more points to 14.5.

If you sell anything more before midnight Sat, you'll get even more points.

Well, I bow down to Rockford10.

Is the Novara hybrid still available? (Not wishing to resurrect an old thread). Asking for a friend.

Next on her list may be a Soma Wolverine frameset in 54, if I decide to swap it out for a 56. Mint condition, too! Anyone want to give me the necessary incentive to pull the trigger?

I have $100, a pint of ice cream, and a vhs copy of the unadulterated Star Wars.

Hey. I had hopes to make it to the happy hour on time, but I cannot. I may not make it at all.

MY primary prize for Rockford10, Eminva, Noodles and JonRobot are dibbs on anything in my free box. I took photos of everything except one item, nearly new Shimano 105 10 speed 5700 STI levers. Here is the link to the Google album showing the stuff. Ask any questions about the items:

Rockford has asked me to represent her in this transaction. I'm pretty sure she could use the 105 levers, which would be a great upgrade for her. She's running 2x10 Tiagra now; would they work for her? I'll be jealous if she's able to clean up her cables up front and I'm still stuck with shift cables in front of my headlight. :p

Sweet, the levers are hers.

Yes the 105 levers will easily replace her Tiagra levers with no problems. Shimano road 10 speed spacing is consistent across the product ranges. I only stoppe dusing them because I went back to 9 speed. Why? So I could run MTB derailleurs.

Also, to all BAFSers, it there anything in the box people really want? I hope to drop it all off otherwise at VéloCity in a week or so.

You've got some nice stuff in that box! I couldn't see the captions here at work, but I don't need anything at the moment, least of all temptation, so I defer to others if they want to avail themselves of the kind offer.

Thanks!

Did anyone take the helmet? Methinks my daughter's head has outgrown her kid-sized one.

It is an adults XL. Suspect it will not fit your daughter.
